Affluent history of St. Andrews church and its tourism importance

Reflecting the brilliant culture of Darjeeling St. Andrews church which stands as a landmark of British tradition is one of the oldest and pristine churches of Queen of hills.
Built in mid 18th century and named after the saints of Scotland this church is an Anglican church.
As we all know British during their time had made Darjeeling their summer retreat and during their reign they constructed many monuments, edifice and churches all across India and St. Andrews is one amongst them.

History
It was during the colonization period when British were active in capturing almost every region of India they discovered Darjeeling as their summer retreat and lived here during their time of vacation.

In its early days Scottish soldiers and local tea planters used to come here to worship and during that time this church was amongst the finest church of entire Darjeeling and even today its structure and way of making differs from many other churches of Darjeeling.

Today this church is open for visitors to allure an amazing work of British because after an earthquake of 1873 very little renovation has been done.
There was a time when Scottish soldier used to ring the bell of this amazing church but after the downfall of British Empire, very few peoples looks to pass through the guiding way of this church.
