Valley

1500 ft Katao of Northern Sikkim is located at a distance of around 24 km and

is covered with snow is so much dominated by the height of Rhododendron and
Orchid that the valley is often reminds us of Switzerland. From Katao one can
view the tremendous stands of mountain and its enduring slopes.

Although winter is the

Gurudongmar
Lake
Located at a distance of around 50 km from the
pristine valley of Lachen the lake of Gurudongmar is a cherry on top because an

Chopta
Valley
The valley and its
serenity are renowned as offbeat destination. Nurtured within an elevation of
13300 ft, make sure to come here during the time of spring to witness the
blossoms of Rhododendrons and wide varieties of Orchid.
Things
to Note
Traveller must remember to
obtain a permit before arriving to the northern helms of Sikkim and to get the
same they would require talking with the authority who in turn would validate
your documents and would assign you a permit.
How
to Reach
By air- the nearest
airport is Bagdogra which is located at a distance of around 200 km from
Sikkim.
By train- the nearest
airport to Sikkim is New Jalpaiguri and it is located at a distance of around
150 km and it will take around 3 and half hour to reach.
By road-Siliguri is the
nearest nodal point and from here you will get ample of local cabs and spacious
sumo to reach Gangtok.
