Exhilarating South Asian Bazaar to Be Held In Delhi from August 25

In the South Asian Bazaar which is to be prearranged by Delhi Tourism here from August 25, Ajrakh block printing and leather work of Pakistan, Shibori tie-dye and indigo dying of Bangladesh, bandhani and laheria from Rajasthan are some of the handicraft which would be exhibited.

Artisan from Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Afghanistan will exhibit their handiwork along with Indian craftsmen from Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Manipur, Kerala, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Orissa and Kutch in the seven day event, which would wrap up on September 1, at nature Bazaar near Chhatarpur Metro Station.


The officials stated that some the added attractions of the event are Kantha and Sozni embroidery, basketry and back strap weaving of Bhutan.

They also said that the bazaar, spread over almost 7,000 sq metres, will present a colourful stage for craftsman to exhibit their extraordinary skills in handicraft and handloom.

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will be inducting the Bazaar.
