Take a Trip to Immaculate Kumaon Himalayas

Domestic tourism has gained popularity with the campaigns to promote even lesser known tourist destinations.

Can you remember Big B’s ad promoting Gujarat Tourism, Kerala’s ‘Gods own country’ ad campaign and several others? The tourism ministry is endorsing India as a happening destination for sensitive visitors under the slogan ‘Incredible India’.

The country thrives with rich culture and heritage, primeval monuments, forts, high altitude, snow covered mountains in the North, beaches in South and numerous virgin destinations to visit.

With the rising temperature, a holiday to cooler areas is the requirement of the hr. Some tourists prefer to unwind on the beach whereas a few like observing the racial culture of the city while others like to get involved in adventure sports as the region provides.

According to a public relation officer of Garhwal Mandal Nigam Ltd, Sunil Maithani, Uttarakhand has pictorial sights, the weather is clean and the locals are hospitable. He claims, “The place is the main attraction of Himalayas. As it is located between the Himalayas in the north and the Shivalik range in the south, Uttarakhand offers the most overwhelming views of the towering peaks, along with the mist covered deep gorges and places of pilgrimage and nature lovers.”

The place is the famous spot for pilgrims. Sunil adds, “During summer, Chardham, the four most holy and sacred Hindu temples-Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri have always been the hot favourites. The course is blessed with outstanding glaciers, majestic snow covered mountains, valley of colourful flowers and thick forest which drive people of all ages. Besides Chardham, Mussoorie, Dhanaulty, Lansdowne, Harsil, Binsar, Mukteshwar, are also popular for their unspoiled beauty. Nature is something to be felt and treasured so the only tour tip for those who are planning a visit to Uttarakhand is to travel less and reside more. Take a stroll amid the hills, enjoy the clean fresh air, go for trek, visit local temples and view the mist covered town with its mystifying sound. Just relax, to rejuvenate yourself.”

President of Yuvashakti, Ajit Sane speaks about adventure tourism, “Adventure tourism is travelling to distant, striking and probably untouched regions. Destinations like Manali, Rishikesh, Darjeeling, Nainital and Pithoragarh are becoming the new centre for adventure tourism in the country. These places are constantly adding to their adventure prospect in terms of new and safe equipment and qualified experts.”

He adds, “Rishikesh is the hub for White Water Rafting with most of the white sand beaches alongside Ganges. The place provides safe rafts with imported material, foreign trained guides and supreme camping amenities. Manali is popular for its exotic trekking routes that drive numerous groups.”
