The state of West Bengal is very rich in culture and traditions. Trekking
Trekking in places like Mirik, Sandhakphu,Kalimpong, Phalut, Chattakpur and few others, in the state of West Bengal, is the best way to explore the untouched natural splendor of this state. The Toy Train Ride
The Toy Train ride is another adventurous activity that you should not miss in Darjeeling, West Bengal. The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, which is also fondly called as the ‘Toy Train’ is globally renowned and was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, in the year 1999. 

The entire route is about 80 km, which starts from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, passing via Siliguri, Kurseong, Ghoom and finally reaching the pristine hill station of Darjeeling. Along the route, you can enjoy various picturesque views of long stretched tea plantations, small waterfalls, scenic landscapes, Mount Kanchenjunga and the alluring view of the Darjeeling town, placed on top of a hill.

Water Skiing
Places like Digha, Bakkhali Beach, Sagardwip and few others in West Bengal also offer facilities for water skiing. Various kinds of water sports and adventure sports can be enjoyed at the Digha beach. Tajpur, which is close to Digha is also being developed as a major adventure destination with facilities like water-skiing, water zorbing, snorkeling, parasailing and others.

The hills in the region of Darjeeling district are very much famous among the mountain bikers from international origin. These hills are placed at various heights and altitudes, including meandering roads and scenic landscapes, which allure the mountain bikers from different parts of the world. Rock Climbing
Rock Climbing Regions around Dooars and Darjeeling in West Bengal are very popular for rock climbing. The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute in Darjeeling was established on 4th November 1954, in order to encourage mountaineering in India. 

The first ascent of Mount Everest by Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary was one of the main reasons behind the establishment of the institute. Various courses are provided by the institute to encourage the people who are interested in learning the art of rock climbing and mountaineering. Besides the hills in Darjeeling, Shushunia is the chief centre for rock-climbing in West Bengal.
River Rafting
River Teesta and its tributary Rangeet in the Darjeeling region, in West Bengal are among the most popular water rafting destinations in the state. Out of these two rivers, the former one includes a series of rapids with unstable intensity while the latter one includes more turbulent waters, making them a favorite among the river rafters. 

With the inclusion of River Rafting, Darjeeling has been listed in the adventure tourism destination or else it is known for its picturesque beauty and the sprawling tea gardens. While in the Himalayas, feel the heat of the turbulent rapids and the splashed that takes your breath away.

Yachting
Another popular water sports activity that you can enjoy in West Bengal is yachting, which is provided in areas around Dooars and Haldia. Haldia is rapidly gaining popularity as a yachting destination as it is a port located on the Bay of Bengal.

Parasailing 

Parasailing is an activity which has been recently included in the list of activities in West Bengal and is gaining popularity among the adventure seekers, who are visiting this state. Beaches in and around Digha and the Tajpur sea beach is among the most popular destinations for parasailing in West Bengal.
